Starting from Scratch
More than half of our homes are custom built. Let’s assume you want to build your dream home. You may have a floor plan already, but more likely you will have general ideas. We first have to establish the size, style, and budget of the house. Once we have a good idea about the size and rough configuration of the house, we make a sketch of what we have in mind. By rough configuration, we mean how many bedrooms, car spaces, whether or not there is a basement, and what amenities you might want (from a cigar room to a double bowling alley, etc.).
Now that we have a sketch of your dream home, we can look for the ideal lot/land that best suits your design. Once we do, we will involve our architect. This is where the fun begins. The architect will put together all the information we provide and create a complete plan for us to execute.

Building on Your Land
You may already have your own land, lot, acreage, estate, or neighborhood. The process of building on your land/lot is very close to the custom building process. We either begin with your floor plan or start with new ideas. You will be directly in charge of this process and the professional fees involved.
